Abstract:

Four new species of the leptogastrine asilid genus Mesoleptogaster: M. levusara, n. sp., M. loaloa, n. sp., M. meriel, n. sp. , and M. vitiensis, n. sp. are described and illustrated. The previously only known Fijian leptogastrine, Leptogaster pacifica Bezzi, is transferred to Mesoleptogaster (as Mesoleptogaster pacifica, n. comb.) and the male terminalia described for the first time. With the addition of these four new species there are currently five leptogastrines known from the Fiji Islands.
