Abstract: | The following paper consists of short systematic and biological notes on some Stratiomyidae and Asilidae of Southern Rhodesia. The immature stages of Ptecticus posticus Wied., Neolophonotus porcellus Speis., and Promachus negligens Ad. are described, and notes are given on the distribution and habits of some little-known Dasypogoninae "robber flies". Lasiocnemus fascipennis n. sp. from S. Rhodesia and N.W. Tanganyika, and Stichopgon maculipennis n. sp. from Urungwe, Lomagundi district, are described. |
