Antennae: scape light brown, brown setae dorsally, white pruinose; pedicel light brown, brown setae ventrally and dorsally, white pruinose; postpedicel light brown, white pruinose; apical 'seta-like' sensory element brown
Thorax: brown to black; postpronotal peg small, distinct, silver pruinose; scutum antero-laterally brown, predominantly yellow pruinose, indistinct apruinose spots laterally; macrosetae: 1 white notopeural seta, 1 black supra-alar seta; scutellum yellow pruinose, discal scutellar setae and scutellar setae long, yellow
Legs: yellow to brown; femora light brown to brown, metathoracic femora pale yellow proximally, clubbed; prothoracic tibiae yellow, mesothoracic and metathoracic tibiae brown, pale yellow stripe not reaching tip anteriorly; first tarsomere yellow, brown distad, remaining tarsomere brown, setae black; empodium about a fourth of length of claws
Wings: densely covered with microtrichiae; pterostigma distinct, brown; discal cell terminating in 2 veins; halteres light brown
Abdomen: brown; yellow pruinose, T1 with long white setae laterally, T2 in proximal half with white setae laterally, remaining tergites with short white and yellow setae, sternites yellow pruinose
Male terminalia: surstylus not sharply pointed distally, lobe ventrally; hypandrium with pointed lobes distally; dorsal aedeagal sheath medium length; lateral apodeme bifurcated.
The species is distinguished from congeners by the predominantly yellow pruinose scutum and the densely arranged microtrichiae on the wings.
Type locality: Sri Lanka, Paraiyanalankulan (08°46'N 080°10'E).
