Head: black; face silver pruinose, facial gibbosity distinct, mystax white, many macrosetae; proboscis and maxillary palpi brownish-black, setae white; ocellar tubercle apruinose; occiput silver and yellowish pruinose, setae yellow
Antennae: scape brown, brown setae ventrally; pedicel brown, brown setae ventrally and dorsally, white pruinose; postpedicel brown, white pruinose; apical 'seta-like' sensory element brown
Thorax: black; postpronotal peg small, distinct, silver pruinose; scutum bluish-black, predominantly yellow pruinose, median stripe and 2 lateral spots may be distinctly apruinose, sometimes fused to form 1 large apruinose spot, yellow setae scattered on surface; macrosetae: black, 1 notopeural seta, 1 supra-alar seta; scutellum yellow pruinose, discal scutellar setae and scutellar setae long, yellow
Legs: yellow to brown; prothoracic femora yellow, mesothoracic femora yellow proximally, remaining part brown, metathoracic femora in proximal 1/3 pale yellow, clubbed, club in proximal half brown, distal half yellow, setae white, tibiae yellow proximally, remaining part brown, pale yellow stripe not reaching tip on metathoracic tibiae anteriorly; first tarsomere in proximal half yellow, brown in distal half, remaining tarsomere brown, black setae; empodium short, about a quarter of length of claws
Wings: hyaline, but microtrichiae evenly scattered on remigium, brown stained; pterostigma distinct, brown; discal cell terminating in 2 veins; halteres light brown
Abdomen: brown, sometimes anterior margins of tergites orange; tergites predominantly brown pruinose, anterior, lateral, and posterior margins grey pruinose, T2 in proximal 1/3 with apruinose spot, T1 with long white and black setae laterally, T2 in proximal half with white setae laterally, remaining tergites with white and brown setae, sternites grey pruinose
Male terminalia: surstylus pointed distally, large lobe ventrally; hypandrium ventral margin straight; dorsal aedeagal sheath tubular, medium length; lateral apodeme bifurcated.
The species is distinguished from congeners by the predominantly yellow pruinose scutum, the densely arranged microtrichiae on the wings, and features of the male terminalia.
Type locality: India, Karnataka Province, Mudigere (13°07'N 075°37'E).
