Head: black; face yellow pruinose, facial gibbosity indistinct, mystax white (sometimes yellow), many macrosetae; proboscis and maxillary palpi dark brown, setae white; ocellar tubercle silver pruinose dorsally; occiput silver pruinose, black setae medially and white setae laterally
Antennae: scape brown, white setae ventrally, white pruinose; pedicel brown, black setae ventrally and dorsally, white pruinose; postpedicel brown, white pruinose; apical 'seta-like' sensory element hyaline
Thorax: black; postpronotal peg large, silver pruinose; scutum predominantly brown pruinose, margins grey pruinose, sometimes 2 narrow median stripes, not reaching posterior margin, and 2 lateral stripes, not reaching anterior and posterior margins, apruinose, few white and yellow setae on margins; macrosetae: black, 1 notopeural seta, 1 supra-alar seta; scutellar silver pruinose, discal scutellar setae and scutellar setae short, white
Legs: yellow to brown; prothoracic and mesothoracic femora yellow, metathoracic femora yellow proximally, brown distad, clubbed, club with short white setae; prothoracic and mesothoracic tibiae yellow, pale yellow stripe anteriorly, metathoracic tibiae yellow proximally, brown distad, pale yellow stripe not reaching tip anteriorly; first tarsomere yellow, brown distad, remaining tarsomere brown, black setae; empodium minute
Wings: densely covered with microtrichiae, cell br with few microtrichiae; pterostigma distinct, brown; discal cell terminating in 2 veins; halteres light brown
Abdomen: black; tergites predominantly brown pruinose, anterior, lateral, and posterior margins grey pruinose, T1 with long brown setae, T2 in proximal third with few white setae laterally, remaining tergites with short yellow and brown setae, sternites grey pruinose
Male terminalia: surstylus pointed distally, lobe ventrally; hypandrium bent upwards, divided into 2 long lobes; dorsal aedeagal sheath open, gonopore proximally, lateral process long; lateral apodeme simple.
The species is distinguished from congeners by the brown and grey pruinose scutum, the densely arranged microtrichiae on the wings, and features of the male terminalia. This species is part of the brunnea species-group.
