Wings: hyaline, slightly brown stained, few microtrichiae in distal half; pterostigma distinct, brown; discal cell terminating in 2 veins; halteres yellow
Abdomen: black; tergites predominantly brown pruinose, anterior, lateral, and posterior margins grey pruinose, T1 with long brown setae laterally, T2 in proximal third with white setae laterally, remaining tergites with short white and yellow setae, sternites grey pruinose
Male terminalia: surstylus pointed distally, lobe ventrally; hypandrium bent upwards, divided into 2 lobes; dorsal aedeagal sheath short, lateral process short, extending gonopore; lateral apodeme simple.
The species is distinguished from congeners by the antero-lateral orange-red coloration of the scutum, the few microtrichiae on the wings, and features of the male terminalia.
Type locality: Tanzania, Lumbria (09°34'S 034°07'E).
