Diagnostic description:
The genus Tipulogaster is distinguished from other Leptogastrinae by the elongated postpedicel of the antennae and the shape of the male terminalia. So far, 2 species are known to science.
Distribution:
The genus Tipulogaster is restricted to the New World and is currently only known from Canada, French Guiana, and the USA.
